Steve Jobs on life, death, and success

Stanford University Commencement

Where would we be without Steve Jobs?

For one thing, we probably wouldn't have a graphical user interface on our PCs. Microsoft would almost certainly be still serving up DOS and telling us to like it.

There'd be no iPod or similar devices and carrying your music and seminar files with you would require lugging around a huge box of CDs.

Jobs, like all of us, is a flawed human being. He's reportedly not much fun to work for or with. And yet look at what he's contributed and what he's overcome...

Rejected - twice - at birth, driven out of the company by created (Apple) by conniving corporate hacks, given a death sentence by his doctor.

But he never gave up - and we're all richer because of it.

Thanks Steve...for your guts, for your imagination, for your inherent generosity (even if you can be a royal pain in the a** at times. )
